Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for “Alternate” versions of certain stories Hell, they’ve made fun of Wonka several times over the years (The one from the Al Gore episode remains a favorite). Shit, if they’re REALLY going to desecrate a classic, the least they could’ve done was have the Grandparents engage in some kind of kinky fantasy between Wonka and some Oompa Loompas (who are surprisingly-yet smartly–absent from the sketch). After all, when you think of “Charlie/Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”, you IMMEDIATELY think of the elderly getting it on, right? Not only is that an unusually specific thing to focus on, but they belabor the Hell out of that point for far too long. One user went so far to say that it was (and I quote) “Worst premise for a sketch since the Rear Window/farting one? I think we have a new winner.” And if you take a good, long, Hard look at the sketch, it’s pretty easy to see why this has earned an ample amount of Instant hatred. You wanted more pain? You’ve got it! Over the past few weeks, we have received suggestions via private messages, twitter, various message boards where I share these articles and elsewhere to find out which sketches that you, the audience wish you could throw a brick at and BOY did you deliver. I would say thank you (and I sincerely do), but if a list of worsts was what helped propel the numbers I hate to wonder if I’m a sadist or a masochist for trying to capture lightning in a bottle a 2 nd time. So much so, that thanks in part to a recent list of personal Worst SNL sketches, we managed to achieve a record breaking November with just over 1,000 people visiting in the past month for the first time. I learned something these past few weeks my readers are certainly gluttons for punishment. Happy Festivus, Everybody! And what better day than today to air out a few grievances?
